iphone 2g: backup problem. HELP Please!!
hey guys... i dont know if you have encountered this kind of problem but, whenever i connect my phone to my mac, it does what it needs to do, like install and remove apps, but when it comes to backing up my info on my mac, it says that my iphone has been disconnected even though i did not touch it or disconnect it. heres what it gave me:

please help me if you guys have a way around this. i just need to back-up my info and i was going to update to 2.2 but unable to due to the problem. Thanks in advance guys!!

Q: Has the backup ever worked? You can check prefs for the last one.
Don't think I can help -- but it sounds like a non-recoverable problem and a complete iTines restore will be required. If you've kept current w/syncs and have a fairly recent backup you won't loose too much. Good luck.

A: yep.. it had worked before... the last backup i did was back in 24th of dec. of 08.
i was also thinking of just restoring back to 2.1 but i didnt want to loose any of my new contacts. i also wanted to upgrade to 2.2 but since it cant backup due to the problem, i dont know how else to fix this. can someone please help! thanks!!!!

If your backup wasn't too long ago, I would just restore.

I am having the same problem!
I have an Iphone 3G with the 3.0.1 update my last back up was 8.28.09. Any idea's ?
