I have an iphone 8gb 1st gen. I have firmware 2.o with itunes 8.0 I recently tried to erase all contents and settings then my iphone went black with the mac logo, an hour after it restarted with the pineapple logo against a black screen. Its been like that for four hours what do I do. Any help would be appreciated.

Connect it itunes put it in DFU mode(hold down power and home for 10 seconds , after 10 seconds release power and keep holding home till itunes recognizes it).Restore and you should be good to go.

Its already unlocked/jailbroken all I did was try to erase everything on it because it was my intention to sell it. I'm new to all of this and forgive me if sound stupid, but what is DFU mode? and how would I get my phone into that mode?

DFU is a deeper recovery mode .It will fix your phone and put it back in original condition .After that run quick pwn to unlock again.
Check my post above for how to put it in DFU mode.
Cool glad you got it .Last edited by BarcaMagic; 01-16-2009 at 05:02 PM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost
