@flip - it is free and works with PCs, Macs and Linux. Just install the desktop version from www.simplifymedia.com and then the iPhone/iPod Touch version via Installer, and you will have access your entire music collection wherever you have WiFi. Music is streamed computer-to-computer within your set of machines and also with friends (limit 30). All streams are encrypted for privacy.
Two additional notes about the iPhone/iPod Touch version:
1) the connection to your iPhone/iPod Touch is one-way. it plays remote music but does not serve
2) we haven't added proper navigation for the "all songs" category (but iPod-like browsing by artist, album and genre is coming very soon). So, it really helps if you have already set up playlists.
On the plus side, unlike mobile safari based solutions, you can keep surfing the web while you enjoy remote music.

Hey Paul, will there be future support for movies/ videos? I love this program btw. Just wish I didn't have to leave my computer on all of the time, but this program makes the expended energy worth it. lol
Cool. Trent tapping in to your stuff, feel free to tap into mine - lindseycholmes. Over 7k songsLast edited by techgirl; 03-04-2008 at 02:03 AM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost

Lindsey, thanks! We really appreciate that. Our top priority right now is making the browsing experience more like iPod. The big changes here will be categories like artist, album and genre, and a bar to let you jump to a letter (a-z) in long lists. After that, we want to further improve the playback UI with things like album art and (possibly) artist bios and/or lyrics. However, when the iPhone version is a little further along, and we have added a few more things for the desktop, we certainly plan to turn our attention to video.

I have 25gigs of Alternative, Rock, Rap, Techno, etc if anyone wants to add me. My user name is dg420.
One feature that I'd like to see added would be for the program to be able to use the ipod EQ settings on the iphone end.Last edited by SupahDave; 03-26-2008 at 06:48 PM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost

It's hilarious that this site busts everybody's balls for "Warez" when it has to do with a developers app that is on this site, but illegally sharing music "oh, that's just fine and dandy".
You justify it by saying you are not downloading it to save to hard drive, but streaming is downloading whether you save it or not.
Personally I could care less, but it' still funny how some things obviously hold precedence over others here. As far as the app goes, everyone enjoy it, seems like a good thing, though I haven't tried it. I have 180 gig of stuff I'll never run out of. No real need to look for other things.
There is a reason why Napster is dead. Someone is going to end up cutting this down somehow.Screw #Winning, I'm #Juanning
