disappearing apps?

I recently got a 3G iphone (had a 2G but touch screen broke after warranty ran out =/) and have had problems with apps disappearing on my iphone. It only seems to happen with appstore apps, and it seems to happen both when its jailbroken and legit (have restored several times). The apps show up fine in itunes and when I sync them (whether all or selected) it shows up in the sync list and says it installs the app, but then it doesn't show up on my actual iphone. If its for an app like google or facebook, when I go into settings it shows up at the bottom, but the actual app is nowhere to be found on the iphone screen. It doesn't happen with all native apps...only some. Anyone have a clue what might be going on? It is really frustrating! The only way I can get it to work is by downloading the apps from the appstore on my iphone...they show up then. However, as soon as I sync with itunes they disappear.

Download SBSettings from Cydia or BossPrefs. Go into Poof and un-poof them.

Thanks, that seemed to do the trick! I guess my only question now is...why was that happening in the first place? Either way, SBSettings seemed to do the tricks.
