Recover contacts from old backups

Hey I just barely jailbroke my iPhone 2G, but I could only jailbreak it on a clean restore for some reason... anyway, all my contacts and data are gone as u can see... really though, all i want is my contacts back.

Is there a way to extract that info from old backups?

Let's try below,i hope it helps...

1.System restore your pc to a time when u synced your phone or before you lost your stuff(ie a week ago).Wait for restore
2.Open itunes
3.Connect iphone.You might get a message that is synced with another library or something.(Do Not Sync At This Point).Either put your phone in restore mode or if you have the option to restore in itunes by shift-hold down.Do that...
4.Wait for iphone to restore
5.After restore it should ask to set up as new phone or from backup...
6.Select your backup(which is a backup from a week ago with all your contacts,old texts,etc.)
7.Check your phone you should have all contacts back
8.Save them somewhere(outlook,windows contacts)

What I want is to see if there's some type of program or something that can extract or read the info from the backups stored in my PC. If I restore my phone to an old copy I can't jailbreak it. And I dont want to restore it and go through the jailbreak process because Im past the point of no return as far as customization goes.

I was hoping there was some type of program that could extract or read the info from one of the old backup files.
