Yellow tint?
I still have the 1st gen iphone and was unlocking a friend of mine's iPhone 3G, and noticed that yellow tint (which i know was supposed to be less evident with firmware updates.) however, it is still noticeable. Are there any tweaks via Cydia to get rid of that yellow tint? or maybe something as extreme as replacing the screen with the blue tinted one?

It is what it is. Apple spent less money on the LCD screens to shave costs. So now we get a piss yellow tint instead of a crisp clear or slightly blue tint.

is that the real reason to save money? is there any way to replace it?

The real reason they say is that the new LCD feels warmer to look at or some bullcrap like that
It really isnt noticeable unless a 2g and 3g are side by side thoughThe Original Autobot of MMiJesus couldn't turn into a fire engine

Guess you're probably right. But I noticed it right away Ugg. Lost my old 2G and decided to replace it with a 3G. The very 1sy thing I noticed was ... I thought they fixed the dirty-yellow tint with 2.0.1!! Obviously I didn't keep current with this thread since at the time I still had a 2G.

I got a replacement 2g for my gf from the apple store and it's 2.2 firmware. It's noticeably different from my 2g, which has the blue/clear tint.
