Default Using iphone on another computer after system crash

    Hi,

MY computer went the way of the dodo so I have no access to my itunes and backup of my iphone 3g.

I'd like to sync it with my macbook instead but dont want to wipe everything and start again which is what it offers when I hook it up. Anyone got a solution to this?

    cheers

Are you wanting to transfer your music and apps to the new computer from your iphone?

Its going to have to be done the hard way. Meaning you will have to resync it all fresh. BUT you can at least recover the music and video using iPod Copy Manager. It will import the music and video. Then you will have to bite the bullet and delete everything.

But in your case in the "Guide" section look for "Back-Up Your Entire IPHONE - A How To Dummies Guide"

There you can find the area you need backed up and importantly where those files are. Once you know the location you can use a program like Disk Aid to connect into the phone, goto those directorys and pick out the files needed before you wipe the phone into the new computer, then pop the files back onto the phone.

If you do not have many contacts, could care less about photos in your phone and notes. Grab whats called a "pen and paper" and jot down the few contacts. I've done this a few times... works great. Guess getting back to the basics isnt too bad. LOL Your previously downloaded content from the iTunes app store should be there and will let you put back what you paid for.

Can you still access the old hard drive? If you can you can pull your iphone backups from it.
