2.1 to 2.2 update w/ yellowsn0w?

Hello everyone!

I am currently using an iPhone 3g 8gb on the T-Mobile network using a gevey-3g turbo sim.

I would like to update to the latest 2.2 firmware and download yellowsn0w via Cydia and take out my turbo sim, but I don't want to clear all my data (photos/contacts/music/apps)

How would I do this? Any help is greatly appreciated! Thanks ahead!

Update in itunes to 2.2 which will keep your photos/contacts/music/appstore apps but break your jailbreak. Use quickpwn which will not affect your photos/contacts/music/appstore apps to rejailbreak. In cydia install yellowsn0w and voila! Enjoy

I think QuickPWN does also.. I would just back it up. Or sync all your contacts and stuff with itunes before the update.

Quick question, I am viewing instructions from iClarified.com.

When I rejailbreak again with quickpwn, do I need to add Cydia & Installer again? Or can I uncheck those options?

Yes, keep them checked. The update will wipe them out.

Thanks so much for your help Stealth.

I just did a fresh install, restored to 2.2 using itunes and jailbreak with quickpwn. Installed yellowsn0w and 5bars on t-mobile network.

Incoming/Outgoing/SMS works perfect.
