How do I make private calls?
Usually, I would go into settings, phone and show my caller ID.
However, now when I go there, the option doesn't change. Whats wrong?
How else can I make private calls?

Well using that method would be great, but what if the person is in your contacts?
Note: I am in the US, using T-Mobile

Add an extra phone number for that person with *67 before it.
it seems that the settings option asks AT&T for the setting using some funky string, it's probably different for T-M.http://jpassoc.com/x -- with free itunes under the puppy!
If I help you out, please press ★THANKS!

Yup. *67 Before the number. I wouldnt add another contact though. Possibly another number on that contact. 1 Blocked, and 1 not.
