    Default Mail notification?

Hey everybody! I just got my brand new iPhone 3G last night and I'm LOVING it! I'm still getting acquainted with and trying to learn as much as I can. I've already figured out how to pic message with non-iPhone friends which I'm stoked about. I have one question though regarding the mail feature. Is the phone supposed to notify me without checking my mail that I have new mail? It hasn't done that, I have to go into my mail to see if I have any new messages. I did something with IzyMail to forward my Hotmail messages. But it won't notify me for that or my gmail account. Do I need to change something in settings? Thanks!

In settings under mail I beliveve you need to turn on PUSH notification. That should do it. Also you should be able to set it up so that even if it doesn't support push to fetch your email. That can be set up to check your email accounts every 15 to 30 minutes. It works for me on my gmail account.

Thanks! I think that worked. Push was turned on, but I had it set on manually check and switched to every 15 mins.
