Tethering Question
Here's my situation... I have a 3G which I can tether to my laptop no problem. Now what if I introduce another iphone into the mix... can that phone connect to the ad-hoc network and share the internet connection?
Basically I'm headed out to a friend's house to unlock his iphone 3G and there's no wireless internet to download Cydia so I need a way to get it connected.

I've done that for people at work before. Used my iPhone as my internet connection, so I could connect their phone to iTunes in order to activate it. Is that something like you're trying to do?

Pretty much I want to use my 3G as the internet connection.. and then tether to another iPhone so I can download yellowsnow thru Cydia. In order to do this would I use my laptop as the ad-hoc "hub"? Can I basically use the laptop to tether phone to phone.

I've never tried to access one phone from the other in that manner. Just used one phone as the modem so I could use the other through WiFi. Interesting idea though.
EDIT: Sorry, not Wifi, I mean to connect to iTunes so iTunes can activate.Last edited by Eurisko; 01-07-2009 at 11:33 AM.

After testing I have found it's not possible. Bummer.
