Soooo i kinda screwed up ALL my network settings and resetting doesnt work!

hey everyone. so i kinda screwed up my preferences.plist. now this .plist is not the one located in
/private/var/preferences/SystemConfiguration
i actually kinda forgot where it was located. but it the last couple folders were:
?/preferences/SystemConfiguration
so i guess im kinda screwed. can someone help me? the problem here is that i cannot connect to the internet with edge or wifi. when i open the app 'service' it just kicks me back out. everytime i got into the setup for the wifi and select my wifi it ALWAYS asks me for my key but it never actually connects fully cuz when i go to see my ip its all blank. no numbers. i dont wanna reinstall everything but i guess i will if no one has a solutions. i obviously cant ssh or anything. i tried resetting my network settings and that didnt do nothing. can someone help? thanks!
