strange problem with the app store

i recently got an iphone 3g for christmas and all is working fine except when i,m on the app store and select categories and then games it takes me back to the home screen, but when i select any of the other categories it works fine. it can be really annonying. anyone any ideas?

All I can offer is that you can try hard resetting your phone and maybe go to Settings>General>Reset All Settings and the log back into iTunes/App Store on your device.

Backup with itunes and hard reset. Then you won't lose your contacts, calender.
