Operating System: Windows 2K primarily, sync my iphone with my work computer (XP sp2)

Screen calibration rediculously out of sync when plugged in. Any thoughts?

Not sure what happened, but when I plug my 2G iphone in to charge it the screen seems frozen. tapping and sliding frantically affects the slider slightly, but not enough to unlock it. if plugged in while unlocked, the screen only seems to respond (limited) to the vertical axis. what could be wrong here?
