turning off edge using boss prefs
hi guys,
i just jailbroke/unlocked my phone. i have a question though, i didn't bother reading the heading very carefully at the beginning of boss prefs where it talks about turning off edge, all i know is it says there's a faster/less secure and a slower/more foolproof way to turn it off.
turning it off using the boss pref front page tab is the faster way, but can i also turn it off using the slow way too to make sure i cannot in any way connect using edge?
i just dont want to suddenly connect and get a huge bill in the mail.

boss pref is pretty good if you choose to turn off edge. im sure it wont use it AT ALL. also in settings>general>network>data roaming you can turn it off so you dont incur any charges while roaming. not sure why you would get a huge bill for edge network..?

^There used to be problems where BossPrefs wouldn't turn of EDGE completely and people would get screwed...
Now I think it's better, however to be safe you can always kill it completely through SSH'ing in and deleting something. I don't quite remember what it is, but search around and you should find it easy enough.Respect your elders.

2G phone, bro. 2G. Back in the day, people used to simply buy 2G phones from AT&T and unlock them to use on AT&T because they didn't want to pay for EDGE (which is an extra $20 per month). This would lead to the problem where it had to be killed completely so as to not have one charged for inadvertently using EDGE without a plan and thus being charged absurd amounts.
