3G activation and T-Mobile

Hello, I have a quick question. I recently updated to 2.2 with the 2.11.7 baseband w/ Cydia (from a user on HowardForums), but the phone was not activated. I then put a friend's SIM in and activated via iTunes.
Now my question is, come yellowsn0w, could I just run the app to unlock? Or would I have to re-restore the iPhone with activation already checked in Pwnage?

as long as you have the correct baseband you should be fine from what your saying here.

In another thread though you said you updated to 2.28 though
