is there anyway to copy and paste for text messaging?

No sir, not any official way at this point at least.
There are some apps in both the App Store and Cydia that work for this, though. You can also check MMi's news from a few weeks ago, which dealt with the release of a new application to solve this problem.Respect your elders.

iRealSMS would be my vote, Lets you Fwd Text messages if thats what your looking for..

or you could do a search in Cydia for SMS2Mail. You can backup your SMS and email it to an email address. It's free too, I think.
