All sounds have quit working

All of a sudden today all sounds on my 2G phone quit working. I am running 2.1 and all has been fine till now. When a call comes in the vibrate still works, but no ringer. When I am playing for example, Islots, no sound, nor when I wake the phone, no sound.However if I go into settings, sounds, and try the ringer volume it works, and if I change the ringtone, the test works, but that is the only time I have sound. I have turned the phone off several times and then back on, still no sounds. Can anyone help me with this?

make sure it's not on silent mode ... probably not it, but i helped eliminate one possibility...

i member back on 1.1.4 i had this problem and reset all settings

not saying its the solution so dont do it and brick your phone and blame me so with that said do it at your own risk
