the application you want/need is m-box mail it will allow you to have your hotmail account on your phone. The app does cost 9.99 but it is totaly worth it.

There is another way to do it but does not let you have access to your whole hotmail account. Google freepops and search this site for freepops and you will get alot of info.

    Good luck

I use hotmail forwarded to gmail then use the fetch email facility on the iphone to get email. You can only forward hotmail if you pay for the plus service which costs around $20 (£15) for a year.

i read this off a site
    "Michael says:
    Friday, 18 December, 2009 at 2:59

OK, I got push from mboxmail now. Turns out the problem was with me. I reinstalled my keys, removed com.apple.apsd.plist, and reinstalled mboxmail. I am now receiving push notifications from mboxmail with a five minute delay.

Not trying to generalize but I think it is quite possible that some of the phones are not receiving push notifications because they are jailbroken and use Cydia’s push fix. Cydia’s push fix does not work as it uses the same keys for notifications. The more people uses the same keys from push fix the less effective it will be.

    Anyways, hope that helps."

which basically explains y the push doesnt work.. i was wondering if anyone knew how to do what hes on about?

I have 3 hotmail accounts being checked by the native mail client, 1 google acct. and 1 cox acct. Why would anyone pay for that with another app? all I do is enter the info that it asks for and it's done.

Micheal can you explain exactly what did you mean by "reinstalling your keys and removing com.apple.apsd.plist?" I believe I am having he same problem. But my apple mail app seems to work fine.

haha im not michael it was what i read on a website, but i got it to work on mine.

ill tell u what i did and mayb it will work for u..

    1) i SSH my phone and cut and paste the "com.apple.apsd.plist" file to my desktop
(i learnt how to do that on [ame=http://www.ipodtouchfans.com/forums/showthread.php?t=224341]Tutorial - Speed Up Your iPhone/iPod by Removing Launch Daemons - iPod touch Fans forum[/ame])

    2) i uninstalled mbox mail and reinstalled it again on the phone not going through itunes.

    3) i SSH the file "com.apple.apsd.plist" back to its orignial spot

and it all worked again, i wasnt sure what he mmeant about the keys, but it turns out i didnt need to do it.

    hope this helps

This thread was started in 2008 when Hotmail was not supported on the iPhone.
It is now - what's the problem?
