AT&T Refurb

I don't know if you guys heard yet, but AT&T is selling the iPhone 3g for $99 the 8gb and the 16gb for $199. Question is, is it worth getting the 3g and pay the ETF (mainly 16gb for me) or just get the 2g 16gb for 420 on ebay? Let me know what you think.

Depends on what you want.

I believe the ETF is $175, so your looking at $375 for a refurb 3G. Or, you're gonna pay around the same for a 2g 16gigger.

Hmm, if the 2g and the 3g are about the same price; makes a hard decision.

If you wanna unlock it....your taking a gamble buying one from ATT because if it has 2.2 FW installed, you cant and your stuck. Plus, its all the hassle of going through and signing up then cancelling, etc, etc. I think you can return within a grace period but you pay a "restocking" fee for nothing.

Yeah, you're right too much of a hassle. However, for someone who doesn't mind the hassle or mind the gamble I guess this would be great for them.

great price... but I think you might be stuck with Firmware 2.2 that you might not be able to Unlock for a while.
