I've done some research and haven't found a concrete answer. I have in the past taken a sim card from a phone, slapped it in another phone and voila, that now becomes your new phone. I went from a Nokia to a sony I think it was years ago. but the sim card slot was the same and it worked. Now then the question is this. I have an 8GB Iphone and let's say in 1.5 years I want to get the 16GB can I purchase the new 16GB IPhone and slap in my current SIM card from my 8GB and that's it? then I can take the SIM from the 16GB and put it in the 8GB so I can sell it to someone else?
Yes, you can use the sim in a future phone. I took my sim out of a Sony phone I had and use it in my iPhone. I have had the same sim in different phones for a few years now. It is very nice as well that if you change your phone number they can just do an OTA programming instead of having to get a new sim.
