Screen replacement

Hi just wondered if anyone had come across the problem I'm having, the screen was broken on my 1st gen iphone so I managed to get hold of another iphone that had a different problem on it (the screen was intact and worked as it should) so I decided I'd try and replace the screen myself, making sure I was extremely careful at taking the other iphone apart and replacing the screen, although I haven't put it together completely when I power it on I get the dreaded white screen, anybody had this problem and knows of a remedy please, I am going to go through the disassembley procedure again making sure when I put it back together it is done properly, but any pointers for this would be greatly appreciated. Check all your flex cables, hopefully you didnt break anything. And try a restore.

Maybe your in DFU mode?? Doesnt that give you a white screen?
