I purchased a 3G unlocked OFFICIALLY from Apple NEED HELP
I live in the USA I purchased a NEW officially unlocked I-phone from Overseas,Australia. where the IMEI # has be registered with Apple.The Firmware is 2.1. Can it be JAIL-BROKEN so I can use Cydia? I know that it has to be Jail-broken before updating to 2.2 from what I was told.Will this affect the phone after I try to update it with the Apple 2.2 through Itunes? I don't want to wipe out the official Unlock that Apple has in its date base. Please input would be very grateful.
I'm afraid to do anything as I will have spent a small fortune from nothing.

Restore to 2.2 and then use quickpwn to jailbreak. If it's officially unlocked then nothing you do will lock it.

Grew up in Anderson Mill/Lakeline area, but now live south of the river(SoCo area)
