you can ssh into your phone and get the address book out, cant remember the directory now but you can get to it.
in itunes under info> contacts sync there is an option to also sync with google/yahoo contacts. i also do this so that i have a second backup of all my contacts. The Original Autobot of MMiJesus couldn't turn into a fire engine

your phone first needs to be jailbroken, then install openssh from cydia and connect to your iphone via SSH using winscp on windows or cyberduck on mac. if you have never SSH into your phone before, google or search this site. there is guides everywhere.
once you are into your phone via SSH your address book (contacts) is there somewhere, again a google search will help you. you simply copy that to your computers harddrive, then when you have restored copy it back onto your phone via ssh and they will be there again. then sync in itunes to get them in your address book on your computer, then sync again with itunes checking the box for google/yahoo for the future.
this should be enough pointers to see you through
you can also copy the iTunes_Control folder to your harddrive via ssh. this will contain all your music (the names are scrambled up).
if you then add the mp3 to iTunes again the names will reappear as normal.Last edited by reeko; 12-26-2008 at 05:17 PM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost

I believe the directory to your contacts is: var > mobile > library > adressbook.
I think you can back up anything in the library folder and have it restored, via SSH."Thanks" button. Learn it. Use it. Love it.

When i said be more specific i meant the directory location, i know how to SSH my iphone, but thanks, i apreciate.
Of course i search on google but i dind't found, that's the reason i asked here.
I backup the var > mobile > library > adressbook and didn't work.
Before i restored my iphone i also SYNCRONISE with ZYB (FREE APP STORE APP) everything went smoth and now i have all my contacts.
Thenks,
Mihai
