Screen Protector?

Hi I bought an IPhone and bought a 24$ plastic casing for it with a plastic shield so I can run my finger all over the screen. I just removed it to clean it up a bit and looked at my actual IPhone screen and it seems like a small film is on there because the phone doesn't look completely black if you know what I mean it looks as though there is some sort of film protector? should I remove it?

the iphone's screen doesn't come with a film over it.

if it is the iphone 3G then the screen is a bit yellow

OMG I'm an idiot lol. I took my cloth and wiped it and it was infact residue from the actual screen protector of when I first opened it up, haha here I was trying to peel something off that didn't exist.
