    Default iPhone not charging

I've had my phone plugged in for the last hour or two and it will not charge. The top right battery bar shows that it is connected and charging but the lock screen just shows the battery and no indication that it is charging. I don't have enough battery to restore and I tried other usb ports. Not sure where else to turn so hopefully someone has had this happen before.

I have realised that if you let the battery go too low, then you should plug the phone into a charge, then reboot it while plugged in, then leave it to charge!

Ehhhh no. It's a phone not a magic trick. It doesn't matter how low they go, you just plug it up and it will show red battery until it gets enough juice to turn on and go green. What you've realized is the beginning of a problem on your phone.

    Talking not charing

just reboot the phone. If the phone is hot that's a sign you need to reboot the phone, and it will work.

    btw.

I have a similar issue. Can't charge, have tried 4 cables, can't reboot cause am stuck in the battery thin red line when you don't have charge. Only way to get it recognize is in recovery mode. I've spent waaay too much time configuring it to have to go through all of it again. Can't find solutions other than restoring...

    Anybody?

Well, turns out to be that I can't even restore. Took it to apple. Battery went dead. Can get another under warantee but got valuable JB info so next step is to get one of those speakers with dock + USB to computer. A guy told me that they bypass the battery so can power on and extract data. Kind of doubt it but will search for one. Otherwise bye-bye data we will have to get a replacement device :-(
