No Service

Since i purchased my 2g iphone i though ATT had the worst service. 2 days ago i bought my wife a 3G and she has good service. At time that i have no service she can be on a call. I am trying to hold on to my 2G until a new one is released, perhaps a 32 gig. Does anyone have any ideas to why my iphone gets such horrible service. Note we do not have 3G service up here either.

2.2 Jailbroken 2G
Wifes is spanking new 3G

Any ideas or help will be appreciated.

Eric

So i read some stickies again and decided to load up BootNeuter and reflash only to find that its crashing my phone. It detects my settings shows them to me and freezes. Cannot flash or quit. Any help would be appreciated.

Sounds like you may have a corrupt baseband which is causing you problems. If bootneuter doesn't work you may try and completely erase your baseband and then restore the phone to re-write it. Use the program KiPhone to "ierase + debug boot". Good luck

eric

Ok so the read me was in german? So i went blind. ZiPhone puts the phone in recovery and sits. First time i figured i should restore. So i restored my JB'd ipsw and same thing her phone is making calls and i have no service. So i tried boot neuter to see if it runs and its frozen. So i tried ierase again and im in recovery again. Not sure if i did this right. I tried to read some before responding but time is of the essence when the phone is limping. Im thinking im missing something. any ideas?

Thanks
Eric

What's to miss.. you open Kiphone (patched version of Ziphone). Click the ierase and debug boxes like I said.. run the program. It takes about 60 seconds or so to complete and you should see lots of code running across the screen. After it's done the phone should reboot and then hit restore in iTunes.

It's probly because you're on 10.5.6. You will have to use this patch which fixes recovery/DFU drivers for that version of OSX. iClarified - iPhone - How to Enable DFU Mode in Mac OS X 10.5.6 (Comments)

thanks again for the help

eric

That didn't work either. Could it be the version of itunes?
I can try Ziphone PC version too.

To wrap this up.
I contacted apple (Apple then to ATT then back to Apple) and they advance shipped me a new phone. Works like it should. Not quite the reception of the 3G. Very subtle difference.

Thanks for the help.
