    Default is it worth fixing

hi all, my boss dropped his 2g iphone and couldnt bother getting it fixed and bought a new 3g and asked me if i wanted it to try to fix it..so i said yes!! the lcd screen lights up but doesnt display anything..no cracks...i presume it is a ribbon cable either dislodged or broken. if i find it is broken and not dislodged, can a new ribbon cable be bought and installed or would i have to get a whole new lcd?
    many thanks

LOL, ribbon cables don't dislodge on iphones. Go to ebay and search for "digitizer lcd glass iphone 2g" and find the many offered. They start at $139

^Yup....on a 2g you need the whole assembly....glass, digitizer and LCD (as they are glued together and trying to separate them will break them). This is also assuming nothing else was broken in the drop, which would require complete disassembly and testing all the boards to find out.
