My iPhone Firmware?! HELP PLEASE!

I need to find out my iPhone's firmware so I can restore. But, the thing is, I can't find out what my firmware is because all my icons have disappeared(which is why I'm trying to restore).

Is there any other way to find out my firmware version? Thanks!

Just plug into iTunes... hit restore. This will bring you up to firmware 2.2 if you're not already.

I bought my phone 3G unlocked. If I update my firmware wouldn't my iPhone get re-locked?

If it's factory unlocked then nothing you can do will re-lock it. If it's unlocked with a proxySIM, then I would suggest downloading a pre-built 2.2 custom firmware with the unlock and jailbreak built in.
