    Default How to rename an App?

    I know this iss a realy nooby question but how do i rename apps

    If i go into winscp and rename the folders and then respring the apps disappear from my springboard,

    I used to have that ReName app but i lost it and now its not on cydia

    so can anyone tell me how to rename apps (only the jailbroken apps, not appstore)

    Default here i will make it easy for you

    every app has am info.plist. In the .plist file u will see this
    <key>CFBundleDisplayName</key> then under that this
    <string>Cycorder</string> This is from ccorder so if u change <string>Cycorder</string> to <string>Video</string> Video will be displayed as the app name hope this helps

    this worked with gpsphone (gba) but not with bite sms, when i open the playlist in notepad it dont have a <key>CFBundleDisplayName</key>

    you can get the rename app on installer. the new 2.0 version is out and you can rename appstore stuff too. the repo for the new version is a27dev.com/installer/repo

    sadly i dont have installer, but ceelo's method works but not in biteSMS

    I actually just found a cydia source for rename 2.0 it is iphone.org.hk/apt/ hope that makes it easier!

    ok here is my .plist for bitesms just put open it put what ever app name u wanted where it says <string>Name Me</string>
    then replace the info.plist

    for me the rename app only works for jailbroken apps. I cannot get it to rename apple apps or anything from the app store. Is there a trick or anything? Thanks
