hi everyone. When i enable 3G on my iPhone, the 3G icon doesn't show up. does anyone know why is that and how to make it show?
i dont have winterboard or customize to interfer with the icon so what is the problem?
In adiition, is there any way to make the maps work without WiFi?
cuz on N95 on maps it shows u the map and "walks" with u while u r driving on the map without WiFi
so how to do the same on iPhone 3G?

As far as your 3g icopn, do you live where there is 3G service? If you arent in a 3G are, you will not see the icon since you are not "on" 3G even if you have 3G set .
Maps do work without wifi. They work on 3G and Edge. I noticed you are in Egypt, is this correct? I thought I read somewhere that GPS is disabled on iphones in Egypt as it it not allowed. Someone correct me if I'm mistaken.

i moved to Kuwait right now so i am not sure if 3G is available in Kuwait and thx 4 the info i really appreciate it cuz i thought there was something wrong with the device. but in Kuwait there is GPS since my father is using n95 and working with Nokia Maps via GPS but i can't get Google Maps to work on GPS. can u plz help!
and if 3G is not available in Kuwait shouldn't it work on EDGE?

Maps should work in Edge,but if you purchased gteh iPhone in Egypt, it came with the GPS disabled from Apple. It was one of the conditions that it was allowed to be sold in that contry. Unfortunately this also means that the GPS will not work in other places where it is allowed either.

Ok, but i didn't purchase mine from Egypt i purchased it from Dubai. However when i bought it, it wasn't officially sold from apple there. the shop got it from italy and sold it, and i know italy has GPS.
Anyways thx 4 your help.
