Iphone problem

I had an iPhone that the screen had some problems. So I bought a new one and left the old one in my drawer for a few months. I recently took it out to power it on figuring I may just replace the LCD but now it will not power on. Could anyone offer some help on how to get it to come back on? or is it just junk now?

it has been on the charger for about 2 hours now and nothing? this phone has never been hacked unlocked or anything? very confusing?
