13 hours now and still no activation on iPhone
After four activation support people, they finally suggested it take it back this morning to get a new sim card. Said the sim in the phone may be defective. I really doubt this is the problem though.

its fine now. The girl was right. It was the sim card. Once we replaced it, the activation went right through in about three minutes. Everything sync perfectly; all my album art, contacts, calendar, and even contact pics loaded without a hitch. I'm one happy camper today.

I agree, the first Sync went great! I only wish it would have kept the Read/Unread status of my Mail messages... deleting 600 messages ONE AT A TIME was annoying.

I wonder if this could be my problem as well?

Possible... there are quite a few people reporting the same issues...

Cols - did you end up receiving the confirmation email saying anything about whether it was complete?
I received a message @ 2:58pm from at&t that has an order number and says 'You will receive an additional e-mail when your order is comlete that will provide further instructions to activate your iPhone.'
Just spoke with at&t iPhone support yet again (hold time was much less this time) and he said it looks like its nearly done. Funny thing is he said that some are experiencing up to 24hour wait - uh, didn't it only go on sale 21 hours ago?
Oh well. Meanwhile I'm enjoying the heck out of my new iWait. It's real pretty. I look forward to converting it into an actual iPhone.
