Owned the phone for a month. My one rant...
The keyboard! I cannot stand it. I was told this thing is suppose to figure out what it is I am trying to type but I must say that it needs work. The auto correct drives me nuts. Every time I type a work that starts with i it auto corrects before I can even get the next letter done and put it as "I". I didn't hit space so not sure why it is doing this.
I'm not someone with fat fingers so I would hate to see the troubles big fingered people have.
I've tried one finger typing and then the two handed thumb typing. Neither seems to work better then the other. I'm a huge text msger so this typing stuff really get's under my skin. My last phone had a full keyboard and I could pretty much type and not look at it the whole time and get the job done. I have to constantly look at this keyboard and it's always auto correcting. I'd turn it off but then it would take a 128 bit decryption to figure out what I said! LOL
Other then that, I love this phone. I spend as much time on this phone as I do my computer. Never could say that about any other phone

Yea it's one of my gripes with the phone as well. Wish it had a T9.
Maybe it's Apple's way of getting people to stop texting while driving... nah.
You get used to it after awhile though."Thanks" button. Learn it. Use it. Love it.

lol. Hmmm well i must say that i completely dissagree with you guys. Coming from someone who has owned 2 other touch screen phones, the iphone touch screen keyboard is a complete different world in the feild. Sometimes im nowhere near hitting the letter im meaning to hit and it still autocorrects, or it just always registers my touches no matter what. I love the keyboard its just great.
Go Ahead. Hit the Thank button... it wont bite.
Tap Tap Revenge is ***... That is fact.

Yeah, with two thumbs and sober, I can rip on the keyboard. Maybe you just need more time/practice with it? I guess it would be difficult coming from a different full keyboard phone, though...

i agree the auto-correct is VERY stupid.
why is it every time i type in yo, it changes it to "to", why can't it LEARN what i type, and not correct, ur to it.
its plain old annoying. its something that needs much attention.

You could always just turn it off if it bothers you.
So long, and thanks for all the fish

you can eventually teach it to not autocorrect a certain word... yo-to for instance.. just don't push space when it wants to autocorrect and tap the word in the bubble

You should try bitesms or firemail. I had the same problem, but with a landscape keyboard I can type much faster.

I saw a video once that explained this (I think from Apple). Something about the keyboard "knowing" what word your trying to type, then making the touch field around the next letter expand so it improves accuracy.
Ex. I'm writing "unlocked", by the time I get to "unloc" the touch field around the "k" will expand.
I think that's cool, but ya the auto-correct still annoys the shi...crap out of me. If it would learn words faster or give me choices of a word I'm trying to type by simply typing a few letters, then I think it would improve this keyboard greatly.
Oh well, I'm already pretty used to it."Thanks" button. Learn it. Use it. Love it.

I came from a blackberry pearl and blackberry curve and I thought the iPhone sucked for typing... at first. After w hile (although more like 1-2 weeks than a month) I got used to it and typing is a breeze. Auto-correct is also better than on the BlackBerry in my opinion. I have gotten to the poibt where I don;t even really look at the keys anymore I just type type type!

I once prayed to God for an iPhone, but quickly found out He didn't work that way...so I stole an iPhone and prayed for His forgiveness.

^Probably because "alot" isn't a word. It's "a lot" of something...
