Non-Activated upgrade? Not unlocked.
I have a 2G that was previously jailbroken under 1.1.4.
It is not used as a phone and was never activated, nor was it unlocked, just never used as a phone.
I have synced, updated iTunes and upgraded to 2.2.
When I tried to restore the phone, iTunes insists on activating the phone with either a new account or replacement number.
How can I maintain the use of the music, wifi, photos, etc., as I did before upgrading to 2.2?
Anyone help please?

Do your upgrade through Quickpwn/Pwnage, which will activate it for you...

^^^love that sig
....just install the 2.2 firmware...then before it even hits itunes to set it up, run quickpwn and check the option to unlock and activate. then after quickpwn is all done THEN you connect to itunes and set it all up.
The beatings will continue until morale improves.
