same problem here. all you'd have to do is turn all the photos up teh right way on your computer and THEN sync them.
but my problem is that photos that are synced to the phone don't seem to be anywhere near the camera roll and i CANNOT find them anywhere. it' giving me the shits. they're on there but i can't find them :s
p.s. i'm not on the computer they were originally syncd from so i can't just re do it. i need to find them on the phone.
any help??

first thing watch your mouth just use the *** key
your photos if they were saved correctly should be in var/mobile/media/dcim/100 apple (the 999apple directory s where your screenshots are)
there are two sets of your pictures one is jpg and the othe is thm
you want jpg if you are going to extract them

opps, i guess i should have read the rules. my bad.
and yeah that's what i thought. that's where my camera roll is. but i've only got a few pics in there. the majority of my photos were syncd from a folder on the computer. and they're the ones i can't find.

well when i go to Photos on my phone they are all there. the thumbs and the full pictures. so they have to be on my phone somewhere.
full story is i took all my pics from my camera roll off before i jailbroke and when i put them back on i didn't do it properly and there was just blank thumbnails and some of the thumbnails didn't match up to the actual pictures.
so i took only the jpgs off the phone and then syncd them back to my phone from a folder on my computer. but now they are all up teh wrong way etc and i can't find them to get off my phone again. i don't really want to email every pic individually to myself lol.
p.s. if i sync with a different computer it will erase those syncd pics that aren't in the camera roll right?
thanks in advance for any help

found the sync'd pics. they're a .ithmb file starting with F3008 in /var/mobile/media/photos/thumbs. downloaded them off my phone and used Keith's IPod Photo Reader to convert them to .pict files and manually turned them all the right way. going to sync them again soon and see how it goes.

I have had this same problem before and figured out how to fix it. But you need a Mac.
Instead of syncing folders and using Image Capture to import your images, import them to iPhoto and sync your iPhoto library. This should fix the problem.
If you get annoyed with all of the separate albums it makes every time you sync, simply make one main album (I call mine "Whatever") and drag the thumbnail of the new album into the main one you made.
This issue is caused by a bug in iTunes in which iTunes doesn't read the EXIF orientation data of images when syncing from folders, but processes images correctly when syncing from iPhoto. I wish they had a "report bugs" option...
