Importing a iPhone?
Hey just a quick question..
Would I be able to buy an iPhone off the Apple US store and unlock & jailbreak it to use in Sweden (get it delivered to UK first though)?
I have a 2G that I bought on launch and haven't kept upto date with the work on the 3G.
Thanks for any help

No. You have to activate the 3g with AT&T as part of the purchase.

Thanks alot

So I guess ebay or something is my best bet. One last question -is the 3G unlockable?

Unfortunately there is no unlock for the American 3Gs yet. I'm sure you could find one on ebay or something, but after paying for shipping costs and all, your probably only saving a marginal amount.

Not unless you use a sim-adaptor, thats the only way.

and most sim adapters have been rendered useless with the baseband update with the 2.2 firmware. there have been some claims of particular ones working but you will have to do your research on that one. there is ONE model of turbosim which seems to work right now for 2.2
