Keyboard problem firmware question

2g 8 gig running 2.0 unlocked,jb iphone but serial #22 which is the 2 numbers to tell which firmware. and i found it to be 1.1.1.
my one question is
what is the diffents on the differ firmware?
should i downgrade to 1.1.1.
problem with phone is 4 bottom icons work with touch. but in a app. like sms text the bottom (space bar,number icon) will not work. in photo the bottom buttons do not work. in setting's i can not type in the tmobile
apn, because of the keyboard proble. i have installed a app with landscape keyboard but that only works in that app.. i notice sometimes when talking on phone screen goes dark, but when you go to touch to hangup the screen doesn't lite up. but it only happens on calls over like 3-5 minutes or longer, and not all the times.
do you think it maybe a touch screen problem or in the logic board or software.
i have tried 2.0, 2.1, and 2.2 and the same thing.
any help out there or comments..

Try restoring your iPhone. Then, unlock it and try using your iPhone again. If it still doesn't work, restore your iPhone (to get rid of jailbreak and unlock) then take it to an Apple store and see if they can figure out what's wrong.
