"Mail" App Doesn't Automatically Check For Emails Anymore
I recently bought an 16 GB, 3G iPhone. I set up my "Mail" app for my Yahoo mail account. At first it would automatically check for new emails, and if I had any, it would show a red circle on the "Mail" app icon showing that I had new emails.
However, it now doesn't do that anymore. I honestly can say I haven't messed with any "Mail" settings. Now I can go into my "Mail" app and check my Yahoo mail just fine, but it doesn't automatically check it for me and show on the desktop that I have some.
Does it have anything to do with me getting the latest iPhone update 2.2 through iTunes? Can anybody help me with this problem?
Then why did it automatically check for emails at first but now after a few days since I've had it, it doesn't anymore?
Well, I think I fixed it for now. I deleted my Yahoo Email Account information on for my "Mail" app on my iPhone and re-entered it, and it's working now. But I shouldn't have had to have done that. I don't know why it wasn't working.

Check in settings under fetch new data. Is it set to on, then you can choose how often you want to check mail. Under advanced you can select manual or fetch for individual mail accounts. If you want automatic checking of email make sure Push is on and that each mail account you want is set to fetch.
If I've helped you, you can help me by clicking on that Thanks button.
