Signal loss with low battery?

Hi,

I've had no problems with my iphone at all, up until i noticed this REALLY annoying occurance.

sometimes even before the 20% battery warning will appear, and the battery is still green, I'll get the black and red flashing splash screen
the one that tells you to plug in the phone because the battery is low. but it is about half full!
I just restored my phone to see if that would fix it, it hasnt come up YET.

the main issue.
When the battery gets around... 30%, mostly at the 20% warning, while the phone is on sleep/locked. the signal will go down to 1 tiny bar, but i won't have edge or anything. so i won't recieve calls or texts.
but as soon as i unlock the phone, 5 seconds later i'll get my 5 bars back.

anyone know why?

hmmm strange. i had a similar issue as far as the battery being weird and saying it was dead when it wasnt. it turned out i had battery damage from the sun???? yeah. apple gave me a new one right away. the other symptoms your having are strange though. my knowledge stops at the incorrect battery levels

do you think i should take it in to apple?
ugh i just restored it and re installed ALL my cydia apps.. i don't want to do it again.. T_T

has anyone else had this signal issue?

as far as backing up your apps in the event of taking it to apple try this. i would try the phone out WITHOUT it jailbroken and see if you get the same issue....if you do...take it into apple. keep us updated

I have noticed the same with FW 2.2 it seems. Darn you Apple.

I had this issue before i jailbroke it.

^^^im running 2.2 right now and am yet to see this or any problem.....only problem i have is with the ispazio repo right now and not being able to get MCleaner!!!! AHHHHHHHH. mine was sun damage is what they said. of course you cant trust too much of what apple says. all i know is that they replaced it for free. period

So do you think this is some sort of "power management" attempt by apple?

I was reading that there was some hack on cydia that boosted the signals with low battery on lock so this wouldnt happen.

i never found it though -_-"

i did a full restore again.

STILL doing it. incredibly annoying.
has anyone else had this problem?

I really don't want to take it in to get replaced, because re downloading all my cydia apps again.

The AppBackup thing didnt work last time -_-"
