I painted my iPhone
so like a month ago I painted my iphone for fun!
it didnt turn out as well as I'd hoped but I like it...

also, does anyone have a broken iphone or just the aluminum and rubber back covers? I would like to do it again without almost destroying the back cover..

There's plenty of places to buy the antenna cover and back case.
The antenna cover is really cheap, I've gotten a few OEM off ebay for $7-8.
The back itself, depends on the route you wanna take, you can get a new one for around $40 BUT its "empty"...in other words you have to take all the old parts out of your current case, rails, camera lens, apple logo, power button, mute button, volume buttons, headphone jack, simtray, etc, etc.
Not a big deal, i've done it several times.....
You can buy the casing assembled but it'll run ya bout $90.

As I also know you put too many coats on there, I would like to say I think it looks pretty cool; it gave it a nice marble-y effect. Too bad you messed up the back cover...
Respect your elders.

LOL, I dig your improvisational iPhone painting skills. But when I read the "rating" tag on your thread and it said "piece of junk iphone," I just couldnt contain myself.

Ahh, they changed the tag.

Get some acetone and wipe that thing down start over. Before u paint it use cotton balls with some rubbing alcohol and wipe the thing down real well. Get some painters tape and tape off the screen, buttons, etc...... The parts that you dont wanna paint. Then get some krylon fusion paint. It bonds well. Go lightly on the coats. Patience with the paint.

I believe that on your next try you will be successul! I love the effect you was going for so I know that as an artist, you learn from this and improve

See, you thought i was tryimg to be mean in my first post. I was only busting your coconuts. I was just on ebay. Look for iphone 2g back cover in the search bar. Whole set of every single item on the outside of the phone for $30-$40. Includes tools too.

Hey, most people wouldnt have the guts to even try. It's like everything else, yea live and yea learn.
A+ for effort, only glitch was to much paint....no biggy.
I've seen far worse examples

Good try
If I were u I would try to remove as much paint as u can and give it another shot
Lightly sand clean and mask
And use a light coat of fusion paint on antena cover only as a primer and use model paint for rest of phone (3 or 4 light coats) and hit it with a clear coat

any color suggestions? I will change the back cover color but I really need to get a new antenna cover, my current one is all misshapen from sanding etc
anywho! will update when I do it again later, with maybe a how-to/diy
