Turning off auto select on words you type out while texting.
Is there a way to turn off that auto select system? I don't want it to choose its own words. It is because if I wanted to text in vietnamese it will change the words around.
Anyone know how to turn that off?

what firmware are you running? if your not runnin on 2.2 it wont be there. you should update to 2.2 if you dont want to then there is a thing for that in cydia to disable the autocorrection

I am on 2.1 and won't be going 2.2 anytime soon. Any recommended apps to turn off auto correct on firmware 2.1?

if your on 2.1 then why not go to 2.2? 2.2 is WAY better than 2.1.
and i already told you there is a fix in cydia. The beatings will continue until morale improves.

From Cydia, download Bossprefs and then download the "Auto-correct" toggle.

I am actually trying to avoid bosspref because i believe it drains your battery.
I know there is a fix in cydia. There is also 4 other solutions to this too. I just want one that doesn't drain the battery. This is why im asking for recommendation.Last edited by v0locity; 12-04-2008 at 10:52 PM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost

Are you using a turbo sim to unlock your iphone on 2.2? I was wondering the turbo sim's work on 2.2.

as long as your not on a 3g your fine. if you are, just ask a mac user here to make a custom ipsw for you of the 2.2 firmware and send it to you so you can upgrade without having to update the baseband....then your turbosim will work just fine. im telling you 2.2 is far better. if your interested im sure we could get you taken care of. im pretty sure on of the fixes in cydia is not a toggle and is just a fix for it
