Not sure if this is a problem, but just in case - maybe it can cause some kind of conflict... So what i am experiencing is that when i connect the iphone to the pc (on win xp), you know how you hear the "hardware connect" sound in windows xp, well when i connect the iphone, the sound happens twice. When i disconnect the iphone, you hear the "hardware disconnect" sound once, but then some time later, like 5 minutes or so, you hear the disconnect sound again.
Anyone experiencing this? Any ideas of how to 'resolve' this.
Yes, I am having the same issue. But it affects nothing. As for why I have a theory. When you connect via USB, regardless of dock or by cable, XP detects the new device (first sound), then iTunes being slower than XP detects the iPhone and establishes a "link" to it via USB (second sound).
Disconnect, perhaps is the reverse. depending on how you disconnect. Do you disconnect your phone first (like I do) or do you shut down iTunes first. Either way, The iTunes helper is expecting a sync, therefore when it reaches out for the device and sees it missing on the expected USB channel it makes the disconnect sound. As for solution, try to disconnect auto syncing.
Hmm, sounds like it makes sense. I don't have itunes open though when i connect the phone. But if it doesn't cause any problems i'm cool with that. Thanks.
