Spoof IMEI on firmware 2.2....
I did not originate this, I just slimmed down the amount of steps from here(homeofmagic.blogspot.com)
Step 1: Install itunes 7.6 or 7.5, reboot and downgrade to 1.1.4
(The firmware can be found on here)
Step 2: you can use ziphone or iliberty to activate, unlock, downgrade basehand to 3.9fakeblank
Step 3: Use ziphone to change you imei to your desired # (i.e a gophone imei or whatever)
Step 4: Install the latest itunes, reboot, and install the firmware here: homeofmagic.blogspot.com
Step 5: You now have a 2g iphone with a spoofed imei and you know what that means.......Working swirlymms!!

**YOU CAN USE THE SAME CPU TO GET THIS WORKING UNLIKE THE ORIGINAL INSTRUCTIONS
**YOU ARE ALSO NOT LIMITED TO ZIPHONE WHEN IT COMES TO UNLOCKING/JAILBREAKING
If this helped you plz thank me
if this is a repost, plz ignore or feel free to flame lol

Were you able to get this to work? When I tried downgrading to 1.1.4, the phone stayed on with the pinwheel of death and Itunes just kept saying restoring software. For like an hour!

Interesting. I have 7.5 loaded on my Bootcamp sector of my mac. So I can load this 1.1.4 on the Windows side, then reload to 2.2.1 on the mac side? Do I need to just do a restore or do I need to put the phone into DFU mode?
When you look at your account on whatever service you have, its shows the spoofed IMEI and that model of phone?

I cant speak on the mac part since i use an xp lappy but it should work the same on either systems. I put it in dfu mode for 114, and did a restore on 2.2.1
it shows the spoofed imei on everything. When i logged in on myatt it showed my gophone, and swirly worked for me as well. Ive had this done ever since 2.0 using the gophone data plan with 0 issues.

Awesome, I think my best bet is to find a totally separate computer to install the 7.5 version of itunes. Thanks for the info.

Great, Now I wonder how to do this with the 3.0 Firmware. I could pay for it
