Default How can I edit com.apple.mobile.installation.plist in windows or on iphone

I need to edit/remove instances of a app I had installed via SSH in the file names com.apple.mobile.installation.plist.

Can I do this with MobilFinder?

Can I just delete the whole file completely instead?

    I'm on windows OS.

Well, if mobile finder won't, you can always use winscp. Also, I would recommend that you back up the folder before you delete it.

well I do not know of any program that will allow me to edit a plist file on the windows OS. I found that issue out last night when trying to find a plist editor for windows. No luck.

this file will rebuild itself if I delete it, from the research I have done. Not sure if that is the best thing to do or not.

Also i saw where someone said not to edit this file with MobilFinder text editor. I am confused as if that is the same as just going into MobilFinder and editing it. Still learning here

    EDIT: new post below...

Ok I went home for lunch and tried to edit the file from winSCP. This time it opened the file and allowed me to look at it. Not sure why. All I have done is install 'erica's utilities'. Had no idea what it did but some it from searching help.

Anyway I was able to look at it but I didn't find what I was looking for.

Basically here is my issue. I installed a app via SSH through winSCP. After that I leaned the ipa method through iTunes. Well I deleted the folder for that app that I did via SSH and then tried to install via ipa method. itunes thinks it is still install and it isn't. I was told to edit that file I mentioned for any instance of that app I deleted but nothing was in there.

Any ideas on how to clear this?

Have you ever upgraded your phone and instead of restoring first, you just click "update"? I had issues doing that, and that may be your issue.

What that does is it creates a new set of folders in place of your old system folders. Meaning, you could technically have multiple instances of the same application installed, but not visible on the springboard.

If this sounds similar to your issue, I would look around for a similar folder to the one that you installed (you may have multiple applications folders i.e. Applications.Sek9bR, Applications.9Hpk13).

Other than that, I've got nothing. Hope I helped.

No never done that. However yesterday everything worked fine. I have no idea why but it seems like if something doesn't work if I just 'wait', it will work later on. I do not get it but it's like my phone was working over night and some how decided to fix itself. IDK, I just tried it yesterday when I got off work and they installed just fine.

Weird, but at least it's working.
