backwards contacts...help please

iPhone 3g, jailbroken 2.1

i imported my sim contacts and it saved them with the names backwards: instead of Danielle A cell, it reads A cell;Danielle or Cell;Dad and M home;Sharon. i tried saving them from my old phone all the different possible ways it offered and they are still displayed this way. i have tried the different display options on the iPhone and still are displayed this way. any ideas? thanks

have you went into settings, then mail/contacts/calendars, and changed the contacts sort order to first,last? instead of last,first?

Why would you put "cell" or "home" in the contact name? The phone's software keeps them separate for you on its own.

yes I have tried changing the sort order on my iPhone, on my sim, and the phone I saved the contacts from. I put "cell" in the contact name because on my old phone the different numbers were not seperated in a user friendly manner. Any other ideas? I also synced the contacts to windows and edited a few entries then tried saving the revisions to the phone, but no luck. Thanks

You can always just try to put the contacts in by hand.

i could, but i have 268 contacts and i don't want to spend the time to do that, esp with finals in two weeks :/
