Reverse PDA net
So I'm on vacation and I need internet. I'm close enough to a coffee shop that I can get Wifi on only one of my 3 laptops and not at all on my iPhone.
Is there a way to set up the laptop I currently have connected so that I can browse the internet on my other 2 laptops and my iPhone? In other words, iPhone connected to Laptop connected to Wifi? Like a reverse PDAnet
Actually, I'm sure I've seen that is possible-so could someone just show me a tutorial somewhere or something?
Thanks a lot!
max
P.S. I'm using Windows.

Here's how to get your phone online. alk blog: SSH to get your iphone online via USB cable
Can't really say much about how to get the laptops online, but I'll try to find out.

Thanks-that will work for the moment, but I'd still like to make the laptop a complete wireless connection so I can go anywhere with the iPhone and laptops

Edit: Hmm, that's not quite what I am looking for; I checked it out and it seems to be just like PDAnet-not in the reverse like what I am looking for. Still, thanks though!

Well my method will still work as long as you're willing to keep your phone wired to the laptop.

Is there a way I can make the iPhone into a wireless access point while it's plugged into the PC?

Hmmm
the only way I can think of without 2 wireless connections would be have the hotpot use wireless to the coffee shop and then use a wireless switch whichh would be hard wired from the hot spot to the switch and the iphone and other laptops would connect to to get thru the hotspot.

I notice what you mean when I use StumberPlus-it finds 4 extra networks that the default doesn't find. Unfortunately, none of these networks are the coffee shop, and only one is unprotected but I don't know whose it is so I don't have permission to use it.
But thanks for all your help guys-I really appreciate it! Just looks like I'm SOL.
