Why do cell phone stores keep claiming this

Almost every cellphone store post online adds saying they can AnySim Unlock the iPhone 3G without the simcard tray hack...is this a way to try and trick people to go to their store and offer them something else? because according to my knowledge you still can't anysim unlock the 3g unless you get that modified tray and simply pop in your simcard OR you get the very pricy unlocked 3g's...so anyone?

Yeah, basically they are full of crap. There is no soft-unlock for the 3g.....aside from the unlock performed by Apple for sales in certain countries overseas where it is a law.
