Need help on the dreaded restore!!

So I go to sleep last night with a perfectly functional iPhone and wake up this morning to find that the touchscreen decided to stop working. Tried resetting it and all that to no avail, the touchscreen is apparently dead

My next step is to try and restore it but there's 2 things I need help with...

1) There's about 6 unread text messages and I NEED info from 4 of them, is there any way to possibly SSH into my phone and view them?

2) And is there any way to keep all my apps (save to computer or something, idk if this is possible) so I can just put them back on my phone after restore?

ANY help would be greatly appreciated
