can't receive or send text messages

hi everyone, i got this 1st gen. iphone in April 2008. It's unlocked and i still use AT&T as the carrier. At that time, i could receive/send text messages. Now, i can't send OR receive any, but everything else works perfectly (email, apps, calling, etc.). If anyone knows how to solve this problem, please give me some advice. thanks

Your sms database could be messed up. SSh into your phone and locate the SMS folder. It is /private/var/mobile/library/sms and delete the database. Of course this means that you will lose all your text messages you have now.
